HOW BLOC DIRECT OPERATES

So that we can ensure an efficient transaction as possible, we have set out a few guidelines, as to how we operate be it for business catering or events.

BUSINESS CATERING

Availability

We source fresh products daily and whilst we endeavour to offer the full range of menu items, in extreme circumstances we may be unable to do so. In which case we will let you know at the point of ordering.

Pricing

Prices are shown on the menu. If any variation in the menu items arises, then the revised price will be agreed before accepting an order. Prices may vary from time to time, to reflect the price of fresh produce. It is recommended that prices are checked before placing an order. Prices exclude VAT at the standard rate.

Ordering

To guarantee your business catering delivery arrives at the requested time, we ask that all orders are placed at least 24 hours in advance. If your order is placed with less than 24 hours notice, whilst we will endeavour to meet your requested time we will reserve the right to offer a slightly revised menu and/or delivery time.

Every order must have a:

  • valid order number
  • contact name and telephone number
  • delivery time, address and instructions, as appropriate

There will be a £10 surcharge on all last minute/same day orders

Variation

If you wish to alter your order, then we can only accept a variation 3 working hours prior to the delivery time.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your order, then the following terms apply:

  • 3pm day before - 50% charge
  • 9am on the day - 100% charge

Crockery, glassware and plastic platters

If you are supplied with crockery and glassware from ourselves as part of your order, we ask that they be kept in a safe and accessible place prior to collection. Any loss or breakages will be charged.

Delivery

We do not charge for delivery to WD18, WD19 and WD24 postcodes. For all other postcodes we will advise of the delivery cost. In the event we are unable to deliver your order by the requested time, for reasons beyond our control, we will advise you at the earliest possible opportunity.

Payment

Our standard terms are 30 days.

Payment can be by either:

  • cheque
  • bank transfer/BACS

EVENTS

Events are very much to individual taste and requirement and occasion. The more notice we have the more flexible and imaginative we can be.

Ordering and Numbers

The final number of guests and the menu need to be confirmed by you at least two weeks before the event. For business events please also refer to ordering opposite.

What we do

We cook, set up, clear up and take away the dirty crockery and glasses.
We are happy to adapt menus to your particular requirements.

Staff

We can make staff available to support your event on request. Whilst they will be covered by our indemnity policy, we request they are not subjected to any risk.
Waiting staff are charged from £13 hour.

Payment

A 50% deposit will be required with the booking with the final balance to be paid within 5 days after the event.
A 2.5% discount will be offered if final balance is paid prior to the event.

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your order, then the following terms apply:

  • 10 working days - 15% charge
  • 6 working days - 60% charge
  • 2 working days - 100% charge

Access

Depending on the nature of the event we (and any of our suppliers) will require reasonable access to the venue prior to and after the event, at the customer's expense.

We might also require access to the venue at an earlier date.

Equipment

If we are requested to supply equipment (e.g. barbeque, crockery, glassware) a hire charge will be added. Any losses or breakages we be charged.
